What is the difference between AutoCAD and PRO ENGINEER? [Copy URL]

AutoCAD is a widely used drafting program mainly used for layout and 2 D drafting it provide very good support in Quantity Estimation and other tools that are very useful in construction/ development projects. In my personal opinion its 3D capabilities are less user friendly.
Pro Engineer is mainly used for manufacturing related applications like part modeling, generating CNC Codes, making dies, assessment of assembly, simulation etc.
But these are not hard & fast rule one can use either software for either purpose, may be with some compromise to efficiency
